I Quall, he qualls, she qualls

To quall. To quilt and mull at the same time. I know, I know, the spelling seems a bit off, but you can't put two 'U's together can you now, and quilling is something else entirely, so quall it is, for now at least. A friend pointed out the other day that Shakespeare invented a whole lexicon of new words, so how did he decide what the spelling would be? Well, he wrote it differently every time he published and let the public decide.

Qualling has been my primary activity this week, finishing two quilts for my children whilst I mull over my unfinished manuscript, desperately trying to find a way back in.

There are a handful of things that get me into a creative flow - writing, gardening and sewing. If you can't manage it with one, why not try it with another? At least that was my logic. And once again I've had the opportunity to condition myself into believing that I am a completer finisher, and that these quilts that I started (ahem) number of years ago, will finally be finished and live their best life.

There are two of them, one for each daughter, and tonight I will be merrily packing them off to the Quilters to do the final, long armed quilting part of the process. Yippee! Yay Two and Three! Be free quilts, be free!
